Juripop Moot Court Competition

This February 19, 2023, I participated in the Juripop mock trial activity. This activity represents a unique opportunity to plead a criminal law case before practicing judges in Quebec courts. Having never taken a law course, I had to familiarize myself with the various theoretical aspects of common law, such as the theory of the case, the rules of evidence, and the techniques of pleading. As the CiSA Juripop committee did not find a mentor lawyer to guide us in this activity, we redoubled our efforts to build the whole trial by ourselves, as a team. Although we did not win the case, this activity was extremely enriching and challenging. It allowed me to discover the discipline of law theoretically and empirically and meet professionals in this discipline.
